Bell & Ross BR 05 Chronograph
In September 2019, Paris-based Bell&Ross launched its most ambitious watch in years: Bell&Ross BR05https://www.time2umall.com/category/replica-watches/. Today, I review the Bell & Ross BR 05 Chrono reference BR05C-BU-ST/SRB made of metal, with a dark metal blue dial and a matching blue rubber strap. I will admit frankly that I do not want to review watches specifically designed to be worn on bracelets… or straps. I am really happy that I did it. It may be particularly satisfying to review the watches on the matching bracelets, such as BR 05 watches, but sometimes life is no better than a soft rubber strap.
About a year after the first three-handed BR 05 model came out, Bell & Ross launched the BR 05 Chrono. The BR 05 Chrono has the same 42 mm wide steel case, but it is slightly thicker due to the automatic chronograph movement. Compared with the three watches, the automatic watch is indeed a bit larger than the watch, but when it is comfortable to wear, it will be very comfortable and the proportions of the case are also very cute.
Speaking of the case, BR 05 itself is a beautiful thing. It adopts the appearance of Bell & Ross BR 01‘s square case, then softens it and gives BR 05 a higher polished angle and surface. & Ross proposed-it’s that simple. The Glashütte original 70s chronograph I reviewed here also feels like a cousin.
As a tool watch, even if the BR 05 is designed to appeal to a lifestyle, it still has excellent features. The case is durable and water-resistant to 100 meters. The dial has a screw-in crown and sapphire crystal glass. The side of the case has a beautiful crown and a protective cover for the chronograph button, and the overall readability of the dial is very good. I particularly like the design of the two small dials, their shape mimics the shape of the BR 05 case itself.
Bell and Ross chose some functional styles for the BR 05 Chrono dial because the movement provides a complete 12-hour chronograph, but the hour counter chronograph has been deleted. This means that the basic Swiss Made ETA 2894-2 automatic movement (Bell & Ross calls it caliber BR-CAL.301) is equipped with a 30-minute chronograph, as well as a time between 4 and 5 and a circular date window. When putting the BR 05 box on the available rubber strap, an interesting surprise is that I like it very much-not only how it feels, but also how it looks. Visually, the lack of a bracelet actually enhances the visual attention to the case, while also emphasizing its squareness and unique appearance. When paired with a matching stainless steel bracelet, they will blend together.
Therefore, wearing BR 05 on a belt or bracelet can bring a completely different style experience. There is also the problem of simplicity and comfort.
