Breitling Introduces Navitimer B01 “S&S 10th Anniversary”

Breitling launched a luxury variant of its flagship chronograph to mark the tenth anniversary of the S&S Group, a luxury retailer that represents brands such as Rolls-Royce and Richard Mille in Vietnam. The debut of the Navitimer B01 “S&S 10th Anniversary” limited edition coincides with the opening of Breitling’s boutique in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam.

Following last year’s Singapore Airlines edition, it should come as no surprise that Breitling has introduced another iconic chronograph to highlight its focus on Southeast Asia. However, instead of just changing the color as usual, Breitling has adopted mother-of-pearl for the dial, a material that is unusual for the brand but adds a touch to an otherwise powerful pilot’s watch. The mother-of-pearl dial immediately distinguishes it from the standard Navitimer, especially the red gold case. Perhaps the only thing missing is the retailer logo on the dial, a detail reminiscent of the coveted dual signature dials found on vintage Online men watches.

Slightly more expensive than the standard production model in rose gold with a plain cream dial. This increase is largely attributable to the mother-of-pearl dial and appears to be directly proportional to the upgrade in dial material.

The tenth anniversary
This Navitimer edition celebrates the tenth anniversary of the S&S Group, established in 2013 as the exclusive retailer of Richard Mille in Vietnam. The firm has since expanded to represent several watch brands such as Bovet and Audemars Piguet, and diversified into automotive brands such as McLaren, Lamborghini and Rolls-Royce.

This chronograph is a variant of the Navitimer B01 released in 2022. It features a retro-inspired design with the winged AOPA logo at 12, an ode to the original Navitimer, the official timepiece of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA).

Nonetheless, the main feature of this timepiece is its cloud-inspired blue mother-of-pearl dial, which provides a visual contrast to the white dials. According to Breitling, the dial is inspired by the tagline “The sky has no limits,” symbolizing the partnership between the Grenchen-based brand and the Vietnamese retailer.

Aside from the dial color, the dial design remains the same as the standard Navitimer model, with the familiar slider bezel and date display at six o’clock.
